3 Benefits to the Days of Awe

God is releasing revelation about your destiny in this season!

We’re in a time when the Lord is opening the Books of Heaven over us. During the Days of Awe—Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur—God speaks to us concerning our ultimate callings and destinies. 

When I didn’t understand the significance of this season, God encouraged me to go back and look at my journal. Sure enough, during the time of late September to early October, I had consistently written in my journal about important revelation God had spoken to me.

Here are three benefits of recognizing this time of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur—without getting legalistic about it!

Greater clarity concerning your life-calling.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

God wants us to prosper. It’s key to understand this because, in order to truly grasp our destinies, we have to know the heart of God. God desires to give us good things!

When we take care of our own heart issues—like idolatry, greed, jealousy, etc.—we make room for God to prosper us. Remove the clutter of your own heart issues, and you will have greater clarity for your life-calling during this time. 

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23 NIV

Increased understanding of your life-season.

Your life is like a connect-the-dots drawing. Each dot on the drawing represents a season of your life: a job, a lesson, an experience, etc. 

A lot of the time, the reason for each dot does not become clear until a little bit later on. This is when we can see the context of the dot in the big picture of the drawing because we have the perspective of God. 

Sometimes, God will bring us through times of testing, and other times He will lead us into blessing. 

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV 

We’ve been in a time when it seems like it’s been harder to get into God’s will. But this is just another dot on the drawing—and breakthrough is coming!

This is a time when things start making sense!

New alignment with God’s life-plans for you.

God has a big-picture plan for you and your life. It can often be hard to see it while you’re in the moment, but God can see the end from the beginning. He can see your past, present and future all at once.

This is a season when you can develop deeper trust in the Lord and His good plans for you. You can also take care to make sure that your life is aligned with what you know God has for you and your future. 

Take this moment to actively step into the full potential you’re capable of! Live on purpose, for a purpose.

God’s speaking. Are you listening?

If you feel that God is calling you to something specific this next year, keep your ears open. The heavens are filled with activity and, if you listen closely, you will hear important instruction and revelation.

Here’s what you can do: Right now, ask the Lord to speak to you concerning your destiny. Start keeping a journal with you during the coming weeks. Write down what you observe or hear and then see what happens.

Get ready for greater clarity concerning your destiny!
