We find the seven-mountain mandate. In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission (YWAM), developed a God-given, world-changing strategy. Their mandate: Bring Godly change to a nation by reaching its seven spheres, or mountains, of societal influence. These mountains are religion, family, education, government, media, arts and entertainment and business. I’ve added a couple of other specialized sectors for our focus. Demon forces are entrenched in these seven mountains of society and won’t back down without a fight. We are called to be salt and light. We are called to occupy until Jesus comes. We are ambassadors for Christ—His hands and feet on the earth. We are ministers of reconciliation. We will not see transformation in our cities—the reduction of crime, all manner of abuse and other injustices—until we begin to invade the mountains with intercessory warfare. We need to speak prophetically, pray prophetically and war prophetically over these mountains. Everybody is in one of these mountains. I want to invite you to join specialized groups within Ignite to strategize, pray and war with those who really understand the battles you are facing at a deeper level.
