I think one of the biggest problems in Christianity, is that believers do not value the power of a renewed mind. When I talk to people, I can see how well their mind is developed in only a few moments. Some people talk about their little problems and you can tell it is going to overwhelm them and plague them for weeks. Then you have other people that ask me to pray about the huge dilemmas in their life that require major breakthrough. People with a renewed mind respond to situations with peace, saying “I’m not going to worry about this I’ve prayed about it God’s in control.” Bill Johnson said, “We will know when our mind is truly renewed because the impossible will look logical.”

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Do we believe the word of God more than our natural circumstances? When you receive a prophetic word or read the word of God, the enemy and the world will try to come against you in every means necessary to weaken your faith. In every situation, there is a supernatural and a natural perspective. When we receive a supernatural word from God, the enemy is going to try everything he can in the natural to make you think that there is no way it will come to pass. This is why we must understand the power of having a renewed mind.

James 1:8 says, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” Have you ever heard someone with great excitement explain the things that the Lord has spoken to them and highlighted to them in the word of God? They will tell you about the grand adventure and exploits they are going to do for Jesus. But in reality, in a few short weeks, they are in the same place. They’ve allowed the enemy to steal their dreams, vision, purpose, peace & joy. When the Lord says He’s going to do something, we need to settle it in our mind that He will do it. The devil will try to convince you through every means necessary to make you doubt. The number one battlefield for your destiny is your mind. If the devil can get you to think against the word of God over your life, he will have you defeated.

Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Whenever you read the word “heart” in the Bible, the word heart is divided into two things: the spirit and the soul. The soul is divided into your mind and emotions. This Scripture states that the word of God can even divide the heart. We’ve all heard the old-timers say, “My heart’s divided in this situation.” What they really mean is that their spirit is saying one thing but their mind and emotions are thinking something else. We always need to follow after the Spirit of the Lord, not our soul.

Matthew 22:37 says, “Jesus said to them, “you shall love the Lord God with all of your heart, with all of your soul, and all of your mind.”  The heart, soul and mind represent the whole body! God wants us to have every single aspect of our heart pointed towards Him, and through Him you will hit your God-given target for your life. So many times people have gone to church for years, praying in the Spirit but leaving church and thinking the same way. The Lord has spoken to many that He’s going to move in a situation or circumstance but they cannot wrap their natural mind around it. Therefore, they become emotional. My friends when God says something, that settles it.

2 Timothy 1:7 says, “Therefore, stir up the gift of God which is in you to the laying on of hands, for God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind.” God’s spirit doesn’t give us fear, anxiety or insecurity. Instead the Holy Spirit brings His power into our lives and gives us a sound mind. The enemy will always try to come into your life and bring you down with fear. If the enemy can make you anxious, you will not be properly equipped to carry out the things that the Lord has for you. Most people don’t accomplish what God has for them because of their insecurities. We are to be overcomers for God because we walk in His power with His love and we carry a sound mind.

Philippians 4:6-8 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.” When we focus on these things, we will not have time or allow ourselves to focus on the negative things that bring forth anxiety and insecurity. We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus.

Psalms 119:9-11 says, “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to your word. With my whole heart I have sought after you, O let me not wander from your commandments. Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” When we seek after God with all of our heart, we have the word of God in our heart. Now remember the word “heart” translates into spirit, mind and emotion. When our spirit, mind and emotions are focused towards the things that God has for us in our lives we will start to live out our God-given dreams.

Let these two explosive scriptures renew your mind! Colossians 3:16 in the Passion Translation says, “The manifestation of God will be in you richly, supplying you with all wisdom. Apply the Scriptures as you teach and instruct one another was psalms, and festive praise, and with prophetic songs given spontaneously to you by the Spirit. As the foundation of grace overflows within you singing to God with all of your hearts. When we stand victorious fully consecrated to the things that God has for our lives. We will then start to live a life that some people only dreamed about.” Ephesians 6:10 says, “Now finally, my beloved ones, be supernaturally infused with strength through your life union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of His explosive power flowing in and through you.” We need to remember that when we stand victorious, we have the power of God flowing in us and through us. The world is looking for someone, with a renewed mind, to be an example for the kingdom of God!
