Art & Entertainment (Sphere 6)

Today a big part of formation doesn’t take place in schools or homes anymore, but via media. The interesting thing about art and entertainment is how closely interwoven the aspects of pleasure and information is. A TV show or a netflix series might be simply „fun“ to watch, but certainly does contain a message. Actually every rock concert, football game or even a picture in a museum brings about a subtle or not so subtle message. If we want to see Europe touched by the gospel this will certainly not go without holy spirit filled people taking their place in the realm of media, arts and entertainment. There already are many! Let’s pray and fast for them today! But we need much more. In a time where secular people often times are not interested in hearing about the christian message, they are very much open to see something beautiful, authentic, funny. God is the source of creativity. If You want You can also pray for SCHØN conference in Augsburg, Germany, which brings together world-class artists from the secular market to speak with them about the source of true beauty (the conference is in German only for this first edition, sorry). Kunst und Unterhaltung (Sphere 6)

Extrem viele Botschaften erreichen Menschen heutzutage nicht über Schule oder das Elternhaus, sondern über Medien. Das Besondere daran ist, dass es dort immer um eine Verflechtung von unterhaltenden (witzigen, schönen, spannenden) und belehrenden Inhalten geht. Praktisch jedes Rockkonzert, jede TV-Show und sogar jedes Bild in einem Museum trägt auch eine Botschaft. Und diese Botschaften erreichen nicht selten das Herz besser als so manches Buch. Wenn wir sehen wollen, dass Europa flächendeckend neu mit dem Evangelium erreicht wird, wird das nicht ohne Pioniere in der Kunst- und Unterhaltungsbranche gehen. Solche gibt es schon und für diese lohnt es sich heute zu fasten und zu beten. Doch wir brauchen noch viel mehr davon. Im Juni veranstaltet das Gebetshaus unter dem Titel SCHØN eine Konferenz mit weltbekannten Künstlern aus der säkularen Szene, die entweder Christen sind oder dafür offen sind (www.schoenkonferenz.de). Wir beten, dass diese und viele ähnliche Veranstaltungen helfen, Kreativität und Vision für Schönheit mitten in die Gesellschaft freizusetzen, damit Menschen neu einen Geschmack für den Heiligen Geist bekommen, auch wenn sie von der Botschaft Jesu (noch) nicht viel wissen wollen.
